The Panther Creek H.O.G. was chartered on May 13th, 2000. During the Spring and early Summer of 2000, there were several organizational meetings by people who were interested in making the new chapter stand out as one of the best in the area, if not the country.

Many of these people were veterans of other H.O.G. chapters and brought with them their vast experience and knowledge. This would add greatly to the smooth development of the chapter because they knew what worked and what did not. Others in these first meetings were veteran Harley riders but had only been involved somewhat in other chapters. Still others had no previous experience at all. These last two groups brought fresh ideas and no pre-conceived notions of how a chapter with diverse members should operate.

The following will mention some of the people who were involved in these first meetings. This information was sent to me on August 16,2000 by Chapter Secretary, Jennifer McKeegan as a response to my inquiry on this matter to place in a permanent record in our chapters history.

If our memory has failed us, this list will be altered - proof is required, of course!

The chapter was slowly evolving and coming into its own. The new motto for the chapter was, "to ride and have fun." The Panther Creek Hog (PCH) newsletter was called "Hogwash" and has become an interesting and informative work in its own right. Some newsletters only have the bare facts, such as "on Saturday the chapter rode to restaurant A and went home," or words to that effect. PCHs monthly actually has useful information that can make you a better rider and keep you informed of events and cause you to appreciate the whole Harley experience and lifestyle.

The website is a new and critical form of communication for our chapter. This information outlet is so new to H.O.G. that rules and regulations as to its use and content are still being written! Use it often, it also is a wealth of information about people, places and events. Last minute additions and changes are often posted, so before you suit up in your leather armor, like the nights of old, and throw your leg over your steed, check it out.

Our chapter is committed to safety first and many riders have told officers that they really appreciate it! We have competent road captains who, like the shepherds of old, will guide you down that sunrise highway safely and without your nerves shot.
